Changing Your Email Address Password

ACD strives to maintain a secure network, while allowing our customers flexible access of our services. We fight a constant battle to allow the maximum flow of traffic while preventing unwanted mail from being sent and received. As a part of hardening our network against spammers, we have implemented a new set of complexity requirements for acceptable passwords. Passwords that are short or contain only a single word in lower case are especially vulnerable to dictionary and brute force attempts. When these accounts are compromised, spam can be sent from our server. This can decrease our reputation as a trusted email provider and may lead to blacklisting or blocking of email traffic to and from other companies.

These are the current requirements for an acceptable password:

  • Your password must be between 8 and 25 characters long.
  • Your password must contain at least 1 uppercase letter.
  • Your password must contain at least 1 lowercase letter.
  • Your password must contain at least 1 numeral.
  • Your password must contain at least 1 special character.
