Enabling TLS for Windows Live Mail Email Client
Open Windows Live Mail
Right Click on the email account and select Properties
Select the Servers tab
Type in smtp outgoing server name mail.acd.net then click "My Server Requires Authentication check box
Now click on the Settings button
Then click Log on using check box and type in your account information and make sure the Remember password check box is unchecked then click OK
Now go to the Advanced Tab.
Outgoing mail (SMTP) port should be 587 with the check box filled for SSL Incoming Mail (IMAP) port should be 143 with the check box filled for SSL
Then click Apply and then OK then close the window.
Under "Server Port Numbers" click the drop down menu for both incoming and outgoing encryption type to change to "TLS"
Make sure you provide the correct incoming and outgoing ports.
Default ports for TLS
Incoming Server Port (Imap) "143" Outgoing Server Port (smtp) "587"
The port numbers may be changed for security reasons in the future, to be determined!!!
Now click "OK" to close the "Internet E-Mail Settings" window then close the rest of the windows.
That is it for configuring your Windows Live E-mail Client to use TLS!
