Windows 7 - Configuring your LAN Adapter for DHCP

To make sure your NIC card is set up to obtain a dhcp address, open the Network Connections folder.

You can click the Start button and type ncpa.cpl in the search bar or run window.

Alternately, you can open the Control Panel, click View network status and tasks,

and click Change adapter settings.

Right click the connection and select Properties.

Find Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4). Click to highlight and then click Properties.

Make sure Obtain an IP address automatically and Obtain DNS server address automatically are both selected.

Click OK, then close out the windows. Your LAN adapter is now configured to accept DHCP IP addresses.
